After moving across the street from their children’s elementary school, these homeowners decided to remodel their Minneapolis home. They came to Gonyea Transformations to add a great room, open concept kitchen, and lower level home theater and kitchenette.
A palette of light neutral tones, distressed wood, and natural stone creates a contemporary north woods look in the great room. Light from the bi-pass patio doors and gable windows fills the space all the way to the peak of the 18′ cathedral ceilings. In the kitchen, natural stone and distressed cabinets contrast the brilliant white subway tile.
In the basement, the stone theme continues in the home theater and kitchenette. The unique maroon and gold sportcourt has become a neighborhood hang-out for their four boys and their friends.
