This St. Paul home, built in the 1920s, is nestled in a beautiful neighborhood and has been our clients’ home for over 20 years. During this time, the family dreamed of remodeling and updating their home while preserving the character they fell in love with.
Like many older city homes, the spaces were small and enclosed. The Gonyea Custom Homes team took the existing plan and created thoughtful architectural elements that opened walls to allow easier movement through each room. The team also extended the kitchen on the main level and created an addition off the upper level to accommodate a new owners’ suite. Throughout the whole remodel and addition, Gonyea Custom Homes maximized space by incorporating unique touches, including a built-in bench in the dining area, and opening up the front porch with arched details to create an extension of the living room.
